The site chosen: ST GEORGE BANK on the King Street (High density of population)

GALLERY WITH SITE

The facade is projecting out compared with adjacent building in order to obtain the attension from the passers. The form of building is very neutral, whish is in purpose for dragging viewers attention from building itself to the artworks, building iteself only provide a space for artwork to inhabit, and assist viewer to appreciate on the artwork by the way of employing the light into the gallery.

SKYLINE SYSTEM

The direct light is dealt with the celling system through way of importing light onto the white panel before entering the exhibition space , so that only reflection light could go into the exhibitoin space in order to avoid the caused damage on the artwork.

NORTHERN FACADE

In order to achieve consistency with adjacent building in terms of form, the facade actually imitated the form from the next building in the parts of balcony.Also, the two glass panel on the each side is installed to import light into exhibition space as there is no chance to import light on both side facade.

SOUTHERN FACADE

The storeroom is assigned at the back so that when there is new art work coming to the exhibition, the car carrying the new artworks could go to the street at the back of the gallery to unload the stuffs into the storeroom, also the apartment is located at the back in the second level as well, since the person living in the apartment could go into the apartment space through the back street, don't need to go through the exhibition space first.

CELLING PLAN AND LEVEL 2 PLAN

Upper level exhibition space is at the right, with a hole for interacting the space at the first level, and at the same time to import light coming from celling down to the first exhibition space.
Also, the service space is arranged at the back which is for ensuring obvious space functions and partitions in terms of program of the space(apartment, and office next to it)

EXPANDED PLAN OF EACH LEVEL

Main exhibition space is located at first level next to the entrance at the right of the picture, so that once people entering the gallery, they can directly see the artwork.Also, this management of space could improve the efficiency of the economic income, since it has been defined for commercial purpose. In addtion, seating and kitchen will be provided at the first floor, so that after going through the thousands of shops on the King Street, people could find a place for resting and communicating with other people and appreciate with artwork at the same time with may be some drinks like coffee or whatever.Again, the servive space is arranged at the back in the first level as well in order to make the apparent space partitions(workshop next to the courtyard, stormroom is beside the workshop with kichen in front of it).

PROJECT 2 ROOM AND NARRATIVE

A open door with black background behind the wide plain glass curtain wall and heating inside deliver a cold and unbalanced occation.

My narrative: Sensitive atmosphere is waited to be burst into.

BRAINSTORM AND SOME OBSEVATIONS:

1.The innovation of light (challenge in the life gonna face to)

2.Future life is becoming narrawed.

3.The original life will be taken or occupied or replaced by new incoming story.

4.Need a quiet place to think(conner of train station), what will be happen in the following? Where is the next stop and where am I going to?

5.Human life is like a trick, the track that things normally going is like a circle or segment.Someone maybe already go for his/her goal of life for a long time, however several years after, he or she may find that she go back to the initial place or situation that she suffered several years before.

6.activity taken in the space: taking record of her life, store the beautiful side of her life(old pictures she took previously or old collections and objects)into a space(a bit like a dark room for washing the phote of camera, no one could disturb except herself, and won't be replaced by the influential world outside), which can be the encourage or confidence toward challenge brought to the future when she encounter challenge again.Everything can be changed or replaced, only beautiful and unforgetable memory won't.

Forbidden space: You can see the space, but you actually can not enter into except the lady herself, because she herself is the only person could rescue herself.

The space is taken by the striking entrance, and becominig narrawed and deeper. The movement of viewer actually is lead by the facing light beam coming from ouside.

sometimes you may involve into a situation that your things going are like a circle, you may back to the original place several years before when you started this thing, no matter what the track you went, how the way you went, it still can not be worked through, like staying in a jail, can not escape from it. It dosen't matter, everyone does,haha.

SECTION PLAN

PROJECT 1 CAN FELIZ, ARTIFICE

Space configuration was the key concern during the study of parti and poche drawing and actual model making in terms of circulation, enclosure, program, structure and geometry. Can feliz is unique because it was built on the cliff projecting the ocean, and its space was assigned into three different usage:open space, semi open space and private space. structurely it can be considered difficult to build, it not only achieved the structural success, also reflects its structure beauty with its visible steel beam structure, which visually compensate the heavy feeling delivered by the sand stone surface of the building.

Geometry.The geometry of this building can be conceived that only different sizes of squares consisted of the geometry.
